India has given the world many things, the zero, decimal system, ayurveda, and yes, quite a few Miss World winners. Even though, 2006 was not to be the year when an Indian would be crowned, India’s entry Natasha Suri did us proud by reaching the semi-final round.

The title, of the pageant held in Warsaw, was eventually won by Tatana Kucharova of the Czech Republic. Natasha was one of the three girls that were representing the Asia-Pacific region and had as strong a claim to the title as any of the top contenders. Incidently, Sabrina Houssami, another contender from the Asia Pacific, was tied with Natasha for getting into the semi-final. She finally ended up as the second runner up

The 22 year old from Mumbai notched up impressive scores in the various segments of the competition. She was the first runner up in the beach wear segment and second runner up in the dress designing section. No mean achievements these!! A beautiful body and aesthetic sensibilities to match. Incidently, she was named Miss Beautiful Smile at Miss India earlier this year. Okay, speaking of body, here we go with the stats of this dusky beauty.

Natasha intends to start her own clothing line after doing a course in fashion designing; a refreshing change from the usual idea of entering Bollywood. Meanwhile, she has several impressive modeling assignments in her portfolio. She has modeled for Rana Gill, Rina Dhaka, Suneet Varma and a host of top bracket designers. Her face has graced print campaigns in magazines such as Elle and Femina. Natasha’s outfits for the event were designed by Hemant Trivedi, Deepika Gehani, and Ritu Kumar.

Natasha Suri comes across as a girl with eclectic tastes and someone who knows what she wants to do with her life. Her credo for life is “Live like there's no tomorrow and Love like you will live forever." She is fond of music, especially old film numbers and hip-hop stuff. She loves to read, is an adept dancer with interests in freestyle, waltz, and samba and if you throw in her abilities in the kitchen, you have pretty much the complete Indian woman. Natasha is a believer in God as much as she is in her own abilities. As the saying goes that achievers start early, Natasha Suri is no stranger to winning beauty contests. She has won Miss Country Club and Miss Enchante, both in 2003. No doubt, her experience at walking on the ramp and winning beauty pageants gave her the necessary poise and confidence reaching as far as she did.

Currently, Natasha Suri is back home and taking it easy with her family; she plans to get back to her modeling assignments after holidaying with her family in Poland. Ask her about her personal motto and pat comes the reply: "Live like there's no tomorrow and Love like you will live forever."
